Behind the name:
During the Second World War, my grandfather Donald was an aeronautical engineer who worked on Britain’s fighter and bomber aircraft, including the famous Spitfire. I’ve always been proud of this chapter of my family’s history, and am inspired by the iterative engineering that continuously improved the era’s greatest fighter plane to help turn the tide in the face of impossible odds. When I was dreaming up possible company names, it wasn’t long before the desire to honor my grandfather’s contributions to the Spitfire program came to mind, and the rest was history.
